Fireproof 22/11/03

Well we have finished a great night, we have been planning for this evening for a while. Not only was this a gig, but it was an event that one of our home churches was putting on.

Estelle, Tim & Myself attend C.O.C Eastbourne and are actively involved with C.O.C and to be in a position to have a youth group big enough to put on its own event is really a miracle. The evening kicked off with Steve Costers & Luke Beeney on the Decks playing some Tuuunnneeess!! This wasn't only awesome to listen to but the lights were a show in there own, while some people chilled out on the Xbox, PSII & GameCube steve started to finish his set up. We then had two great dances by the Girls accompanied by DC Talk (no not the band - the CD).

We were expecting a reasonable lively gathering and we had just that, starting our set with Lucy's Classic Animal Drumming style the night was still young. I played a little blues lick for a couple of bars the classic 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 shout in from Tim and bang, lights, Bass, keys, guitars galore and we were away, playing a set of 10 tracks. Praise You, Face 2 Face, I'm Gonna Live For You, Rock Me (may i add you all sounded in very good voice tonight), Alright, I Will, Too Many Times, Jesus You Are Awesome (I really felt this moved from a gig to a great time of worship at this point it was like Boom! we're there, just singing, and praising in a way that can only be described as well Awesome, I love this song so much, as it talks about how Jesus is Awesome - which He is and how He has rescued us with his love by giving His life up for me and you, this wasn't played to the score we just followed where God lead us) and to cap it all of Superhero.

What a fantastic crowd you all were. The evening finished with a Drama, known as the what would have happened room performed by Hannah K & Becky S. This is a fantastic drama I have seen it a few times but it simply speaks to me everytime I see it,

Tim gave a gospel message, sharp, short & just what needed to be said.

And that was it a night where we all felt that we had put our individual God given talents to good use and felt that we had really acheived something together for God.
